Save Yourself a TON of Time!!!

If you are anything like me, as the end of the year approaches and the Holidays sneak up faster than you would like, you may start to seek out ways to make some extra cash. This could be for the decorations you have been eyeing at Walmart or Home depot. It could be because you want to leave a really nice gift under the Christmas tree for your kids or your significant other. Maybe you just want to make sure that the lights on the Christmas tree stay lit and that the house stays warm and the smells of cinnamon and Douglas fir waft throughout the hallways encouraging the Christmas spirit we all yearn to feel. Whatever your reason may be, it can be difficult to know where to start. With me, I like to start with my hands.

I like to build things. I like being crafty. I've heard before that you can make money doing anything that you love, you just need to figure out a way to monetize it. I found that way last year. After doing my homework, I found a niche that people love to spend money on -and that is rustic furniture. Rustic is very popular, it make people feel warm and fuzzy, and for us builders it provides a sense of accomplishment to hand something over to someone and have them be exuberant with appreciation and love for their new possession.

So that leaves us with what to build??? If you dig into google images you may find multiple things that attract your attention. As your eye catches a glimpse of a beautiful piece of furniture you may think "ya, i'd buy that". After you find something you are interested in the realization may set in that you have no idea how to build it or what you need. You might be unsure of the tools, the time it will require, or if you would even be able to design it so it matches the image you found. Well, i'm a do-it-myself kind of guy. I can usually figure it out -but it might take me hours upon hours. Precious hours that I would rather spend with my family, or other hobbies that still carry importance in my life. So upon some searching, I have found what appears to be the answer. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. One place where all the plans and detailed instructions are already done for me, saving me precious time. Not just plans for rustic furniture, but plans for other things such as kitchen renovations, outdoor furniture, sheds, bed frames, lawn chairs -almost anything you could want to build yourself, now or in the future.

One of the best investments you can make is in yourself. Learn how to be handy. Watch YouTube tutorials. Take classes, if necessary, to gain skills you have yet to conquer. With a large guide of plans and a set of skills you can make, market, and sell products to earn extra cash for the holidays!
